Dispute resolution policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

DRAFT — pending legal review (PACTA JURIS). Not yet in force.

1. Talk to each other first

If something goes wrong with a booking, the renter and operator must first try to resolve it directly. Raise the issue with the other party through the platform’s messaging within 72 hours of the event (or of checkout, for issues discovered at the end of the charter). Many problems — a delayed handover, a billing question, a misunderstanding about equipment — are resolved fastest this way.

2. Platform mediation

If the parties cannot agree within the 72-hour contact window, either party may escalate the dispute to us. A platform administrator will review the booking, open a mediation case, and hear both sides. We act as a neutral mediator: our aim is a fair outcome consistent with the charter terms, the cancellation tier of the booking and the evidence provided.

3. Evidence

Both parties may submit evidence supporting their position — for example photos or video, the check-in and check-out protocols, platform messages, receipts and invoices. Evidence should be submitted promptly after the case is opened; the mediator may set a deadline and may request additional material from either party.

4. Decision

The platform issues a mediation decision within 14 days of the case being opened, based on the evidence submitted. The decision may include a full or partial refund, release of payment to the operator, or another remedy appropriate to the case. Both parties are notified of the decision and the reasons for it.

5. Courts as a last resort

Platform mediation does not limit either party’s statutory rights. If a party does not accept the mediation outcome, they remain free to pursue the dispute before the competent courts. We ask that mediation be completed first — court proceedings should be the last resort, not the first step.

6. Changes & contact

We may update this policy; material changes will be announced on the site. Questions? Contact info@yachtlisting.com.
